Internet presence is something that the majority of people in the working world forget about.

This doesn’t only mean applying for a job online or sending in your work resume. First impressions on the Internet include your social media presence as well as any other things that may or may not appear when searching your name.

There are a million different companies out there that deal with new employees more than a million different ways.

When applying to jobs it is important to take this factor into consideration. There’s no sure way to know what your potential employers will and won’t look at concerning you and the Internet.

LinkedIn, although useful, is not always the only “networking resource” checked up on by your boss and fellow employees. It is important that if your work persona differs to any great extent from your “off days” persona, that you keep your displays of this private.

While these are vital things to keep watch of and to be aware of, it is important to have the know-how on how to apply for work online. You will need to create a resume as well as inquiry emails and letters of recommendation.

The importance of these things cannot be discredited. But the importance of keeping a positive image of yourself online in social medias such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram cannot be forgotten, otherwise you may feel the adverse effects.

We are not nerds and while we occasionally understand a small part of what the founders and technical guys are talking about (mostly they explain stuff in terms of cakes and pies), we are all Internet users. We thought it would be fun to share some of our own ideas and views amongst the more technical stuff the boys are going to put up here.
